学科鼎新期（2022-）：响应国家“新文科”战略，2022年实施第三次学科重组：新闻传播学科独立建制，原文新葡京赌场与社会科学研究中心（哲学学科点）深度整合，组建新新葡京赌场，进而构建四维学科体系：1. 主干学科群：中国语言文学、哲学、历史学、国际中文教育。2. 特色培育方向：东坡班、创意写作班、人文学博雅实验班。3. 交叉研究集群：统筹民族学、宗教学、人类学等学科资源。4. 四大研究矩阵：南海文明与中华民族共同体研究、海南历史文化与南海文献数字化研究、文艺批评与文学理论研究、古典学与中华优秀传统文化创造性转化研究。
新葡京赌场现拥有一支学缘结构合理、年龄梯队完善、学历学位较高、研究能力卓越的师资队伍。新葡京赌场现有教职工99人，专任教师87人，其中，教授30人、副教授22人，讲师25人，教师队伍博士比例达90%以上。新葡京赌场汇聚了一批高层次人才，包括国家“万人计划”领军人才1 人、德国洪堡基金学者2人、国家社科基金重大项目首席专家6人、国社科重点项目负责人9人，国务院政府特殊津贴专家、教育部重大项目专家以及海南省四方人才、南海名家等一大批优秀人才。

新葡京赌场积极推进有组织科研工作，近五年，新葡京赌场承担国家级科研项目30多项，省部级项目40多项，发表论文320多篇，出版著作60多部。获得省市级科研奖励20多项。2024年，乔焕江教授独立完成学术论文《网络文学批评的四重视野》发表于顶刊《中国社会科学》；刘复生教授文章《女性社会主义与丁玲文学》被《新华文摘》全文转载。

新葡京赌场始终扎根海南自贸港建设前沿，自觉肩负服务国家战略的重要使命。近三年来，累计撰写资政报告50余篇，其中10余篇获得中央、国家部委及海南省委、省政府领导肯定性批示。周伟民教授与唐玲玲教授合著的《南海天书 —— 海南渔民“更路簿”文化诠释》，以扎实的学术成果论证了南海诸岛自古属于中国领土的历史事实，相关研究被人民网、光明日报、中央电视台等权威媒体广泛报道。谭新红教授团队深耕海南东坡文化，持续推进其学术研究与公众传播。此外，海滨教授、和溪教授先后受邀参与央视 “百家讲坛”“遇鉴文明”“传世古建”等大型文化栏目，有效提升了学校和新葡京赌场学术影响力与社会贡献度。
海南大学作为教育部来华留学示范基地、国务院侨办华文教育基地，荣获全国“来华留学生教育先进集体”等荣誉称号。新葡京赌场承担学校全部国际学历生、语言生的汉语教育、国情教育等教学任务。与俄罗斯莫斯科大学、俄罗斯高等经济大学签订合作协议。先后培养出被习近平总书记点赞的 “中哈友谊使者” 鲁斯兰、中泰 “建交五十年 华教五十人” 获奖者王波等一大批优秀中外学子。

College Profile
The School of Humanities, Hainan University has gone through three development stages. During the disciplinary foundation period (1988–2004), based on the Chinese Language and Literature major established in 1983, the School of Liberal Arts was formally founded in 1988, establishing the core disciplinary status of Chinese Language and Literature. During the disciplinary integration period (2004–2022), it was renamed the School of Humanities and Communication in 2004, forming a coordinated dual‑track development pattern of literature and communication. During the disciplinary innovation period (2022–present), in response to the national “New Liberal Arts” strategy, the third disciplinary restructuring was implemented in 2022: the journalism and communication discipline became an independent institution, and the former School of Liberal Arts was deeply integrated with the Research Center for Social Sciences (philosophy program) to form the new School of Humanities, thus constructing a four‑dimensional disciplinary system: 1. Core disciplinary cluster: Chinese Language and Literature, Philosophy, History, International Chinese Language Education. 2. Featured cultivation programs: Dongpo Class, Creative Writing Class, Liberal Arts Excellence Experimental Class. 3. Interdisciplinary research cluster: integrating resources in ethnology, religious studies, anthropology, etc. 4. Four major research matrices: Research on South China Sea Civilization and the Chinese Nation Community, Research on Hainan History and Culture and Digitalization of South China Sea Documents, Research on Literary Criticism and Literary Theory, Research on Classics and Creative Transformation of Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture.
The School of Humanities has a teaching staff with rational academic background, complete age hierarchy, high academic qualifications and outstanding research capacity. The school currently has 99 faculty members, including 87 full‑time teachers, among whom 30 are professors, 22 associate professors and 25 lecturers; over 90% of the teachers hold doctoral degrees. The school gathers a group of high‑level talents, including 1 Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 1 Leading Talent of the National Ten‑Thousand Talents Program, 2 Humboldt Fellows of Germany, 6 Chief Experts of Major Projects of the National Social Science Fund, 9 Principal Investigators of Key Projects of the National Social Science Fund, experts enjoying the Special Government Allowance of the State Council, experts of major projects of the Ministry of Education, as well as a large number of outstanding talents such as Hainan Provincial Sifang Talents and South China Sea Masters.
The school has built an integrated teaching and research system, gradually forming a three‑in‑one pattern of “basic research – applied research – international communication”. It now hosts a research base of the Chinese Nation Community under the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and five provincial‑level research platforms: Research Center for Chinese Literature, Research Base for History and Culture, Research Center for Forging a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation, Institute of Online Literature, and Han Shaogong Center for Creative Writing.
The school actively promotes organized research. In the past five years, it has undertaken more than 30 national research projects and over 40 provincial‑level projects, published more than 320 academic papers and over 60 monographs, and won more than 20 provincial and municipal research awards. In 2024, Professor Qiao Huanjiang’s independently completed academic paper Four Dimensions of Online Literature Criticism was published in the top journal Social Sciences in China; Professor Liu Fusheng’s article Socialist Feminism and Ding Ling’s Literature was reprinted in full in Xinhua Digest.
The school strives to cultivate high‑quality academic brands, continuously holding a series of activities such as the Nanming Humanities Forum, the Grand Lecture Hall of the Chinese Nation Community, and the “Winter Mini‑term”. It has invited more than 100 renowned humanities scholars from home and abroad, including Liu Xiaofeng, Huang Dekuan, Dai Jinhua, Sun Zhouxing, Liu Zhongshu, Chen Pingyuan, Du Zexun, Peng Yuping, Guan Aihe, Wu Jun, He Guimei, Zhu Guohua, Luo Gang, Mao Jian, Lan Bozhou, Kozhevnikov, Arismov, Asami Yoji, to exchange ideas at the university, bringing cutting‑edge academic thoughts and research methods to teachers and students, significantly enriching campus culture and broadening academic horizons.
Guided by “core classic courses”, the school coordinates undergraduate and postgraduate education. Based on in‑depth reading of Chinese and foreign humanities classics ancient and modern, it connects the context of civilization with the spirit of the times. It not only strives to forge profound humanities literacy for students with philosophical thinking, historical depth and global vision, but also focuses on cultivating postgraduates’ academic exploration and innovation capabilities in relevant fields.
Outside the classroom, the school strongly supports students in transforming academic accumulation into cultural practice and encourages diverse campus cultural activities. For example, the student society “Chinese Classics Society” has successively held well‑received events such as the special gala “Hanfu Tour of Hainan Universities” and “Cultural Week Commemorating Confucius’ Birthday”, forming significant cultural influence in the province. Its flagship activity “April Poetry Festival”, with the tenet of “Awakening the Original Poetic Heart, Inheriting Cultural Genes”, has developed into a nationally renowned cultural event. In the past five years, the first‑choice enrollment rate of the Chinese Language and Literature major has reached 100%, the average registration rate about 99%, and the degree conferral rate over 98%. In 2025, the student employment rate exceeded 95% and the further‑study rate about 30%. The quality of new students keeps improving, the talent training quality rises year by year, and the professional social reputation continues to grow.
The school has always been rooted in the frontline of Hainan Free Trade Port construction and consciously undertaken the important mission of serving national strategies. In the past three years, it has written more than 50 policy‑consulting reports, over 10 of which received affirmative instructions from leaders of the central government, national ministries and Hainan Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government. South China Sea Heavenly Book: Cultural Interpretation of Hainan Fishermen’s “Genglu Book” co‑authored by Professor Zhou Weimin and Professor Tang Lingling rigorously demonstrates the historical fact that the South China Sea Islands have been Chinese territory since ancient times; relevant research has been widely reported by authoritative media such as People’s Daily Online, Guangming Daily and CCTV. Professor Tan Xinhong’s team deeply explores Hainan Dongpo Culture and continuously advances its academic research and public communication. In addition, Professors Hai Bin and He Xi have been invited to participate in major cultural programs of CCTV such as Lecture Room, Meeting Civilizations and Timeless Ancient Architecture, effectively enhancing the academic influence and social contribution of the university and the school.
As a Model Base for International Students Education of the Ministry of Education and a Chinese Language Education Base of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, Hainan University has won honors such as the “National Advanced Collective for International Students Education”. The School of Humanities undertakes all teaching tasks of Chinese language education and national conditions education for international degree and language students of the university. It has signed cooperation agreements with Lomonosov Moscow State University and the National Research University Higher School of Economics of Russia. It has cultivated a large number of outstanding Chinese and foreign students, including Ruslan, the “Messenger of China‑Kazakhstan Friendship” praised by General Secretary Xi Jinping, and Wang Bo, winner of the “50 People in Chinese Education for 50 Years of China‑Thailand Diplomatic Relations”.
Adhering to the development philosophy of “Building the School with Quality, Invigorating the School with Talents, Strengthening the School with Research”, the school has set four major development goals: first, to build superior humanities disciplines matching Hainan University’s “Double First‑Class” initiative, rooting in the foundation of excellent traditional Chinese culture and integrating the essence of global civilizations; second, to build a high‑end think tank serving the cultural construction of the Free Trade Port and national strategies, providing intellectual support for regional development through civilization comparison and mutual learning; third, to construct a highland for cultivating talents in literature, history and philosophy with distinctive geographical characteristics in southern China, fostering a new generation of talents with cultural confidence and global vision; fourth, to build an important humanities academic exchange platform with international influence in the field of the Maritime Silk Road, promoting the spread of Chinese culture and dialogue among world civilizations.
